Family grouping

In 1995, our belief in the value of family grouping was put to the ultimate test when we made the transition from age grouping to mixed age grouping. Now, ten years and much valuable experience later, we are still singing the praises and providing childcare in a family grouping environment. Read more...

Last year One World for Children developed a ‘Green Team’. Take a Tour!

With ample carparking, and close to public transport, we are ideally located in Thompsons Road North Geelong.

The Children's Centre is a purpose-built Centre comprising of four Family Group playrooms Ballah, Alkina, Rajah and Allunga, each licensed for twenty children ranging in age from birth to six years, and a sessional Kindergarten for both three and four year olds.

As you take the tour through the Centre, you will notice the care and attention to detail in the setting of the room and play areas. Our programs place an emphasis on creating environments for children that invite play and learning. Look for evidence of this as you wander through the playrooms. You will see that One World takes great pride in creating a homely and relaxing setting for your child.

Oh, and by-the-way, don’t forget to visit our beautiful garden playground! It’s well worth seeing. You can imagine what fun it is to play in! Click here and take a virtual tour or Contact us and take a peek!

Choosing Child Care

One of the biggest decisions a parent can make is choosing the right child care centre for their child. Without any previous exposure to child care, parents may find the situation a bit daunting and unsure what to look for. It’s a big decision and one that can be quite overwhelming. Read more...

Childcare Teams

In our children's centre, within our four family grouping playrooms we employ four qualified team leaders and twelve full-time childcare workers, a ratio of 1 staff member:5 children. We also employ casual childcare workers to cover lunch breaks, study times and planning. Similar ratios exist in our two kindergarten rooms, with two team leaders and three childcare workers.

Team Members of the Month

In 2006 we introduced a new recognition program into the child care team, to encourage and reward excellence, effort and achievement of both individuals and teams. This was a huge success, and so, we have decided to continue with this program again in 2008. Each month completed nomination forms nominating either individuals or teams, will be received. We will review the month's nominations and announce the 3 winners of the “Outstanding Team Member” for the month, as well as the team awarded with “Outstanding Teamwork” for the quarter.

Congratulation to the Winners

Three very worthy winners of this month's 'Outstanding Achievement"!  Caitlin, Jaimie and Jess
