Certificate III in Children’s Services CHC30708

For people interested in pursuing a career in children's services and who wish to gain general knowledge about children and the children’s services industry. After successfully completing the Certificate III in Children’s Services you would earn the classification of a "Trained Child Care Worker"

The Certificate III in Children’s Services is the first level of training in the children’s services stream, and the prerequisite for the Diploma of Children’s Services.

 

It will appeal to new entrants, and those just embarking on their childcare career. It will also be of interest to those who have been working in the industry for a number of years. With recognition of prior learning, these experienced workers may well gain substantial credits towards the Certificate III in Children’s Services, and as the prerequisite to the Diploma of Children’s Services, be well on the way to being qualified.

Occupational titles may include:

• Child Care Assistant
• Playgroup Supervisor
• Family day care worker
• Child Care Worker
• Outside school hours care assistant *
• Recreation Assistant *
• Nanny
• Mobile Assistant

* Some jurisdictions may require CHC41208 Certificate IV in Children’s - Services (Outside school hours care) for these work roles

I am interested in gaining a Certificate III in Children's Services. What options do I have at One World?

There are three ways to gain this qualification - through completing a training program, or undertaking a recognition of recognition of prior learning. Once you know which of these options best apply to you, then you can access further information.

See below for a general outline of the program types available to you. 

     Traineeships - Student Tuition Contribution

The Certificate III in Children’s Services is available as a government funded traineeship, to new workers under the User Choice/New Apprenticeships Program in VIC.

The Certificate III in Children's Services is available as an existing worker traineeship under a Fee for Service basis.

     Self funded/Fee for Service - Training

This qualification can be delivered as a self funded training program to people not currently working in the industry, but interested in pursuing a career in children's services, or to those workers who are not eligible for a traineeship but wish to undertake training.

The Certificate III in Children's Services can also be gained through a self funded assessment only process.
